Towering platform boots have been adopted by many a celebrity, the latest being Demi Moore. On Saturday, the Oscar-nominated actress made an appearance at the New Yorker Festival 2025 in Saint Laurent’s sky-high Nico silhouette.
Retailing for $2,900, the bold shoes boasted a six-inch block heel, an almond-shaped toe and a side-zip closure. A gold, logo-adorned buckle detail offered a hint of shine to the leather footwear. Crafted in Italy, Saint Laurent’s Nico platforms are also available in Bordeaux, a rich red shade with purple and brown undertones. The shoes come in ankle-length versions as well.
Moore perhaps took a page from Dakota Johnson’s sartorial playbook, as the “Fifty Shades of Grey” star wore the same boots last month at the 21st Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland. Johnson, however, styled her pair with a sleek black top and miniskirt from Ferragamo.

The actress paired the shoes with a rich green velvet outfit.

Dressed in head-to-toe Saint Laurent, Moore, who was styled by Brad Goreski, was clad in a holiday-approved emerald green velvet belted jacket and matching pants. The sumptuous set was layered over a frilly blouse in a vibrant green shade. Moore rounded out the look with Saint Laurent’s celebrity-favorite black leather Le 5 à 7 bag and oversized aviator sunglasses. The actress’ four-legged furry friend, Pilaf, was in tow for the event.

“The Substance” star joined writer Jia Tolentino on stage, where she chatted about her acclaimed acting career thus far. “I really feel like roles choose you as much as you choose them… There is a thread that goes through, even if it’s an unconscious one, I think mine tend to also challenge the status quo,” Moore told the crowd. “There is a certain physicality, and I think that a lot of that was in an effort also for me to overcome some of my own issues around my body and my own discomfort in my own body.”
