Fourth quarter update: Montgomery returned to the sideline and was spotted wearing his helmet early in the fourth quarter. The Lions are leading 21-6 and just got the ball back. If Montgomery is able to go back on field, it makes sense to sit him the rest of the way if this game doesn’t get too close.
The Detroit Lions are beating the Indianapolis Colts with relative ease in Week 12, but they are facing an injury concern. Running back David Montgomery was spotted walking to the locker room late in the third quarter. The team subsequently announced he is questionable to return with a shoulder injury.
Montgomery left the game with 37 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries. He also had three receptions for 36 yards. Jahmyr Gibbs is the team’s starter even when Montgomery is healthy, although it’s sort of a thunder and lightning backfield partnership. Gibbs has 13 carries for 55 yards and two touchdowns to go along with two receptions for 12 yards.
More to come.
