The 8-5 Houston Texans host the 3-10 Arizona Cardinals as 9.5-point home favorites on Sunday. The Texans lost their first three games of the season and then muddled their way to a 3-5 record before going on a five-game winning streak (thanks Davis Mills!). They’ve beaten the likes of the Bills, Colts, Jaguars and Chiefs during this run and it’s due to their defense more than anything.
Tight end Dalton Schultz has been steady, but hasn’t had a lot of fantasy upside. This week, which happens to be the start of the fantasy playoffs, you may be looking for more upside than Schultz, but in an overall weak position for upside, Schultz may end up being your best choice.
Below, we’ll go over Dalton Schultz’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 15.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans, TE, Dalton Schultz
Schultz has finished as a Top 10 fantasy tight end in five of his last eight games, but has only caught one touchdown in that stretch. He’s mostly putting together these games with reception volume, which makes him more useful in PPR leagues. In standard leagues he only has two Top 10 finishes over the last eight games.
But, even though Schultz has fared better in PPR, I still rather have a tight end who sees a lot of targets than one who I think has a good shot at a touchdown. So, if I start Schultz, it would be for any scoring setting. And when you add in the Cardinals ranking ninth-worst in fantasy points allowed to tight ends, I don’t have many qualms about starting him this week.
