Cynthia Erivo elevated draped styling in a Balenciaga dress for the Critics’ Circle Film Awards in London on Sunday night.
The “Wicked: For Good” star wore a strapless, chocolate brown gown with a formfitting silhouette and a bevy of fabric draping and ruching throughout the bodice and skirt. A flowing train added further drama to Erivo’s attire, while featuring embellishments at the back just below the hip created a textural statement.

Erivo accessorized her strapless gown with a bevy of shimmering diamond jewelry pieces by Marli New York, including assorted earrings from the label’s Cleo collection and Tip-Top, Fifth Avenue and Avenue rings to boot. The three-time Oscar nominee capped off her look with Christian Louboutin heels. The actress and singer regularly collaborates with stylist Jason Bolden. Her Critics’ Circle Film Awards look also featured assistance from John Mumblo.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, Erivo was deep in method dressing mode for “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good.” The Tony Award-winning actress styled several designer looks in shades of green and black, evoking the color palette of her character Elphaba.

Another Balenciaga design was among the looks Erivo styled during the promotional tour for “Wicked: For Good.” For the film’s New York City premiere in November 2025, Erivo wore a black dress with fabric contrast and frilly feathery embellishments akin to the style featured on her Sunday night Critics’ Circle Film Awards look.
The dress was designed with a drop waist silhouette and a voluminous skirt, featuring a fitted bodice and those same feather embellishments wrapped around the bustline to the back. The design came after Pierpaolo Piccioli was named the new creative director for the Spanish luxury fashion house in May 2025, succeeding Demna.
