Funding Will Help Deploy Autonomous Weapon Stations to Meet Rising Threat of Unmanned Systems

Austin-Based ACS Secures Series A Investment

Allen Control Systems (ACS), a defense technology company focused on autonomous weapon systems, has raised $30 million in Series A funding. Craft Ventures led the round, with continued support from Inspired Capital and Rally Ventures.

The company plans to use the investment to grow its engineering team and expand the deployment of its flagship product, Bullfrog™. Bullfrog is an autonomous robotic weapon station designed to improve battlefield defense against drones and other unmanned threats.

Bullfrog: A Next-Generation Counter-Drone System

Allen Control System’s Bullfrog upgrades existing weapons with artificial intelligence, computer vision, and ACS’s proprietary control systems. These enhancements help transform traditional weapons into precise, autonomous targeting tools.

According to ACS, Bullfrog is among the most effective technologies available today to counter the growing threat of unmanned systems. It’s designed to work with both legacy and modern weapons, making it a flexible option for military and security use.

“High-value targets around the world are at risk from small unmanned systems,” said Mike Wior, co-founder and CEO of ACS. “The urgent need for scalable, effective air defense solutions is creating immediate opportunities across the Department of Defense, international allies, and commercial sectors. With this new investment, we will continue to strengthen ACS’s engineering capabilities and radically advance the fielding of our counter-drone technology.”

Support from Investors for a New Defense Era

Craft Ventures’ Jeff Fluhr, co-founder and partner, emphasized the importance of Bullfrog in modern defense. “ACS’ technology is a necessity as we enter the next era of defense,” said Fluhr. “Bullfrog represents a new standard in counter-drone technology needed by every organization responsible for national security. ACS has built a platform with the flexibility and reliability needed to meet today’s most urgent defense challenges and level the economics of the battlefield. We’re proud to support ACS on their mission to protect U.S. forces and our allies.”

Upcoming Demonstration and Continued Development

ACS will demonstrate its technology in April at the JCO Counter-UxS event. This opportunity will showcase Bullfrog’s capabilities in a real-world testing environment.

As drone threats increase across both military and commercial sectors, companies like ACS are stepping in to meet the demand for effective defense systems. With the new funding, ACS plans to continue pushing the boundaries of autonomous technology to better protect national security interests.
