As the year comes to a close, Pinterest has unveiled its latest “Pinterest Predicts 2026” report, looking at what’s “not-yet-trending” — with the likes of cool blue, “glamoretti” and “poetcore” style alongside “scent stacking”, “vamp romantic” and “glitch glam beauty” set to define 2026.
The social media platform tapped into its internal global data, analyzing from September 2023 until August 2025. Changes in search were found between September 2024 and August 2025, compared to searches from September 2023 until August 2024. And early adopters highlight the top generations that contribute to search growth compared to average generation growth from September 2024 until 2025.
According to Pinterest, cool blue hues will dominate all categories. Cool blue is a cross-category trend that Pinterest said “refuses to warm up to anyone.” For Generation Z and Millennials, subzero styles such as cool-toned coats and glacial accessories will be everywhere. Searches for “glacier aesthetic” increased by 35 percent, “icy blue” increased by 50 percent, “frosted makeup” increased by 150 percent and “ice blue wedding dresses” increased by 55 percent.

In fashion and beauty, “Brooched,” “Extra Celestial,” “Glamoretti,” “Glitchy Glam,” “Khaki Coded,” “Laced Up,” “Poetcore,” “Vamp Romantic” and “Wilderkind” are slated to be the major trends for the upcoming year.
To be “Brooched,” Boomer and Millennial men will be accenting their outfits with vintage pins, crystal clip-ons and heirloom brooches — to tap into both heritage and reinvention. Searches on Pinterest for “brooch for men suit” rose 90 percent, “maximalist accessories” rose 105 percent and “brooch aesthetic” rose 110 percent.
Gen Z and Millennials are going intergalactic with “Extra Celestial.” Straight out of science fiction films, opalescent eye shadows and cosmic silhouettes are set to be all the rage. Pinterest users are searching for “alien core aesthetic” (up 80 percent), “opalescent” (up 115 percent), “alien inspired makeup” (up 140 percent) and “soft dewy makeup” (up 115 percent).
Decadence is back in fashion — for the most maximalist aesthetic, “Glamoretti” is full of tailored suits, sculpted shoulders, funnel necks and bold chunky jewelry. Consumers are looking for “chunky belts” which increased by 65 percent, “baggy suit” which increased by 90 percent, “high collar jackets” which increased by 60 percent, “gold cuff” which increased by 50 percent and “80s luxury” which increased by 225 percent.

Missing the mark on beauty is the point. “Glitchy Glam” consumers are leaning into the wacky mismatching manicures, using two-toned lipsticks and using multiple shades for their eye shadows. The top searches on Pinterest for “eccentric makeup” grew 100 percent, “weird makeup looks” grew 115 percent, “nails with different colors on each hand” grew by 125 percent, asymmetric lob grew by 85 percent and “avant garde makeup editorial” grew by 270 percent.
Inspired by wanderlust, “Khaki Coded” will see Gen Z and Millennials embracing khaki, not just as a color but as an overall palette. Doilies are making their return, but these are not on your grandmother’s furniture. The “Laced Up” cross-category trend will be found on bomber jackets, bandanas, phone cases. More is more as people search up “lace nails” (up 215 percent), “lace belt” (up 55 percent), “lace bandana” (up 105 percent), “lace dolly” (up 105 percent) and “lace makeup” (up 120 percent).
Reading and literacy have never gone out of fashion. Next year will see Gen Z and Millennials leaning “Poetcore” and being the protagonist with oversized turtlenecks, vintage blazers, messenger satchels — all while carrying a fountain pen. Pinterest users are seeking out “the poet aesthetic,” which increased by 175 percent, “poet core,” which increased by 75 percent, “cape outfit,” which increased by 65 percent and “satchel bag aesthetic,” which increased by 85 percent.

The Gothic era revival continues to reign supreme — the proof is in the release of recent films, “Nosferatu,” “Frankenstein,” “Poor Things,” “Sinners,” and more. Beauty is biting back with “Vamp Romantic” trend: jet black nails, romantic Goth hairstyles and smudged kohl smoky eyes with a glossy glamour. The wild is calling, but with a delicate touch to the loudness of animal prints for “Wilderkind.” Fawn freckles, butterfly wing nail art and fox-inspired outfits give a take on forest magic. The top searches for the trend include “bug jewelry,” which grew by 60 percent, “deer aesthetic” grew by 55 percent, “dragonfly nails” grew by 145 percent, “flower outfit men” grew by 105 percent and “animal-inspired outfits” grew by 90 percent.
