Coco Gauff competed in her first-round match at the 2025 French Open on Tuesday in Paris. The Grand Slam champion bested Olivia Gadecki of Australia, advancing to the second round where she’ll meet Tereza Valentova of the Czech Republic.
For her first-round match, Gauff wore a custom tennis kit provided by New Balance. The athlete and 2023 U.S. Open champion’s kit featured a marbled illusion fabric in shades of dark blue set against a muted purple tone. Gauff’s uniform consisted of a sleeveless shirt with a coordinated pleated skirt.

Along with her kit, Gauff wore white New Balance wristbands and a navy blue headband. She completed her kit with white New Balance shoes and white New Balance socks with a subtle navy ruffle. New Balance signed Gauff as a brand partner in 2018.
Gauff’s longtime partnership with New Balance spurred a new collaboration last April. The label partnered with Miu Miu for a series of custom looks Gauff has already worn and will continue to style throughout her 2025 tennis season.

The New Balance x Miu Miu collection was previously worn by Gauff in Rome (May 7 to 18). She will wear different styles from the series during her tournaments in Berlin (June 14 to 22) as well as Cincinnati (Aug. 5 to 28) — the latter tournament is the final stop before the U.S. Open Grand Slam.
The on-court and off-court styles feature three unique colorways for each respective tournament. Her Rome kit featured a color palette of navy and white with accents of red, while Berlin switched to white and green with accents of sky blue. The Cincinnati Open kits will feature white and royal blue with accents of red as Gauff returns to the United States.

Gauff previously served as the face of American Eagle’s fall 2024 campaign, part of an effort to continue to reach Gen Z consumers. “Coco Gauff, already a tennis icon, is someone who exemplifies that entrepreneurial hustle of Gen Z, with her business interests, with her community impact and her sense of style as well,” said Craig Brommers, chief marketing officer of American Eagle.
