Coco Gauff brought monochrome dressing to the 2026 Australian Open tennis tournament in a periwinkle kit courtesy of her partnership with New Balance. Gauff defeated Kamilla Rakhimova of Uzbekistan in her first-round match at the first grand slam of the year.
Inspired by the Australian landscape, the first look of Gauff’s grand slam tennis kit set featured a periwinkle look that kicked off with her walk-on look, featuring an oversized color-blocked jacket, with zip-up detailing and a slightly oversized fit for ease of movement.

The on-court kit was designed with a perforated stretch tank paired with a pleated skirt, evoking the classic tennis kit styles of years past. A racerback and sleeveless style gave the athlete even more movement, with the New Balance logo featured on the back of the skirt in black.
Each element of Gauff’s look, from her wrist sweatbands to her headband, CG2 sneaker and even her tennis racket was designed with the periwinkle tone. Gauff accessorized her tennis kit with another touch of femininity — a pair of blossoming floral earrings.

Gauff will wear another tennis kit for her second-round match, a look featuring vibrant orange tones and small pops of navy. The two-time grand slam champion signed with New Balance in 2018, ahead of her breakout season on the official Women’s Tennis Association tour in 2019.
Over the course of her years-long partnership, Gauff has collaborated with the brand on signature looks and sneakers. In April 2025, New Balance announced Gauff’s collaboration with Miu Miu, featuring custom-designed tennis kits the tennis pro wore for tournaments in Rome, Berlin and Cincinnati.

Gauff was the recipient of Footwear News’ Style Influencer of the Year award, which she received in December 2025. The athlete spoke with FN about the inspiration that comes from her fashionable approach to her on-court apparel.
“As a kid, when I saw Serena [Williams] wear Off-White, I knew I wanted to work with a big fashion house for my kits,” Gauff said. “I didn’t know who it would be with, but this was a dream collaboration,” she added, referencing her Miu Miu x New Balance collaboration.
The 2026 Australian Open kicked off its main draw matches on Jan. 17, with finals concluding the grand slam tournament on Feb. 1. Returning men’s and women’s singles champions Madison Keys of the United States and Jannik Sinner of Italy will compete to defend their titles, with stars like Naomi Osaka, Frances Tiafoe, Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka in pursuit of the trophies.
