JD Vance is a weird guy. For pretty much his entire professional life he has been clout-chasing to get to the next level. Now, he’s doing just that, but with Kamala Harris’ plane. You see, the Ohio Senator and Vice Presidential hopeful decided to walk up to Air Force Two — the Boeing C-32 currently used by Kamala Harris — and just pretended it was his for a photo op. No, I’m not kidding.

The two campaigns happened to be on the tarmac in Wisconsin at the same when, according to video captured by pool reporters, Vance walked over to Air Force Two with a group of people saying he “wanted to get a good look at the plane because hopefully, it’s going to be my plane in a few months.” He also claimed Harris hadn’t talked to reporters in 17 days during his visit with the plane, which is very much not his. It’s not really Harris’ either, as Air Force Two is owned by, you guessed it, the Air Force.

To make matters even more cringe for the “Hillbilly Elegy” author, Vance tweeted a photo of him and his posse in front of the plane, with the caption “This Entourage reboot is going to be awesome.” That just sucks so much, dude. Forget the fact that everyone on that show is sort of a piece of shit, pretending this is already your plane is such loser behavior.

This whole thing feels very reminiscent of clout chasers on the internet who pose with cars that are very much NOT theirs, and yet pretend that they are. You know exactly who I’m talking about, and it’s usually with base-level BMWs, Mustangs and Camaros.

It’s lame-ass behavior. I don’t know what Vance thinks he got out of this, other than making everyone think he’s probably really excited to check out the supple seating aboard Air Force Two.
