Christopher John Rogers is jumping into accessories with his first eyewear, a collaboration with Andy Wolf eyewear. Named the Linden after the Brooklyn street on which Rogers’ first studio was established, the style is an oversize, geometric frame that channels Rogers’ brand of high-octane glamour tempered with American pragmatism.
“The Linden frames perfectly encapsulate the feeling of CJR — a classic, statement oversize silhouette with forward-thinking faceting and an emotional use of color,” Rogers said. “Dramatic but timeless.”
The Linden silhouette comes oversize with a D shape inspired by sculptural midcentury silhouettes, modernized with faceted details, catching the light from every angle. Crafted from a sustainable acetate, the unisex style is composed of 60 percent plant-based cellulose and 40 percent recycled materials, and us equipped with Zeiss lenses. It comes in four colorways: a classic black frame with vivid blue lenses, a creamy Magnolia frame with vintage yellow lenses, an ombré Tobacco frame with petrol-green lenses and a transparent Rhubarb frame with red orange gradient lenses.
Known for his dynamic use of color and exuberant silhouettes, Rogers has been a bright spot in the American fashion landscape. In 2021, he was selected as one of the nine finalists in the LVMH Prize competition and awarded American Womenswear Designer of the Year by the CFDA.
The limited-edition Christopher John Rogers x Andy Wolf sunglasses retail for $495 and debut on christopherjohnrogers.com on Wednesday.
