Game day update: The team did not promote a running back from the practice squad. With Jordan James listed as doubtful for the game, that is a strong indicator that McCaffrey will be playing on Sunday against the Seahawks. You should plan on starting him in your fantasy football lineups.
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey did not practice on Friday due to a calf injury and is listed as questionable to play in Seattle on Sunday. McCaffrey was listed as limited with the injury on Thursday, which points to his tweaking it during practice.
McCaffrey himself doesn’t sound too concerned about the injury, saying that his injury history tends to make any little thing get blow out of proportion. Of course, as fans and fantasy players, we have pretty good reason to worry, as something very similar took place to start last season. And he ended up missing most of the year after saying he felt great.
But, we can only go with the information we have, and right now it appears that he at least has a chance to play on his questionable tag in Seattle.

McCaffrery is listed as questionable to play against the Seahawks in Week 1 after not practicing on Friday with a reported calf issue.
Fantasy football analysis
McCaffrey is one of those players that you start as long as he is starting. At this point we can’t be 100% that he will play though, which behooves us to be ready to switch him out for another running back who plays in the afternoon games, SNF, or MNF.
Probably the best replacement would be McCaffrey’s backup, Brian Robinson, who is currently 68% rostered on Yahoo. He’s a must pickup even if McCaffrey does end up playing. Nick Chubb, who is 67% rostered on Yahoo is another possibility, as he will lead the Texans backfield against the Rams in the afternoon games. Those are probably the only two backs who have a chance to be on your waiver wire who will get meaningful snaps in the late games, but hopefully you have someone on your roster who could work as well.
Isaac Guerendo is a pickup if McCaffrey misses time, but he’s not the priority with Brian Robinson inserted as RB2. If you have room, grab him, but as an upside stash.
