CEW Has Appointed A New President

CEW has a new president.

The industry organization has named Elana Drell Szyfer its new president, effective Jan. 1. She succeeds Carlotta Jacobson, who held the role since 1999, and is becoming the organization’s executive chair.

“Elana’s leadership, empathy and vision give me enormous hope for what lies ahead. I admire her forward-thinking abilities, and I am honored to work closely with her to continue advancing our organization,” Jacobson said in a statement.

Drell Szyfer, who has sat on CEW’s board of governors for the past 10 years, most recently served as the chief executive officer of RéVive Skincare, which was acquired by S’Young Group from Tengram Capital Partners in 2024. She had taken that role in 2017. Prior to that, she ran Laura Geller Beauty, and had two decades’ worth of experience at L’Oréal, Avon and the Estée Lauder Cos.

“CEW has played a pivotal role in my career, connecting me to industry leaders and fostering deep and enduring relationships,” Drell Szyfer said in a statement. “It celebrates the accomplishments of women in the industry and champions their careers at all stages with its professional development offerings and vibrant community. What Carlotta and the team have built is iconic and I am honored to continue its legacy.”

In her role, Drell Szyfer will oversee market position, growth and all facets of the organization. Among its tentpole events are the Achiever Awards, of which Drell Szyfer was a recipient in 2020), its Beauty Awards, and continued programming across its website and live events.
