Cardi B doubled down on black leather during and after “Saturday Night Live’s” 1,000th episode, arriving at her New York City hotel late in the evening in a Bryan Hearns studded trench coat styled by longtime collaborator Kollin Carter. The appearance followed her turn as musical guest on the milestone episode, hosted by Alexander Skarsgård.
The coat was a full-length black leather design with a fitted bodice and a wide, floor-grazing hem. Paneling along the front and sides carried dense rows of metal eyelets, threaded with black lacing that ran in corset-style columns from shoulder to hem. Additional studding ran along the seams and sleeves, creating a grid of hardware across the surface.

Hearns built out the silhouette with strong shoulders and long sleeves that continued the eyelet and lacing treatment to the cuffs. Oversize silver-tone rings in graduated sizes hung down one side of the coat, set at intervals along a vertical strip of hardware.
The rapper wore her hair in long, layered black waves. As for glam, she opted for subtle contouring, soft eyes and a neutral lip. Cobalt blue stiletto nails and fingerless black gloves added another hit of texture against the leather and metal.
The trench capped a four-look run around the 1,000th episode. Earlier, Cardi B stepped out in a maroon Rowen Rose leather suit with a high-neck jacket, cinched waist and matching pencil skirt. She performed “ErrTime” in a sheer, lace-up custom Bryan Hearns bodysuit, also with leather detailing, then changed into a custom Candice Cuoco look for “Bodega Baddie” — a folkloric dress built from a hand-painted floral leather corset, tiered leather and silk chiffon ruffles and red, white and blue accents that nodded to the Dominican flag.

Hearns has a long history of designing performance pieces with heavy hardware and corsetry. The Los Angeles-based designer created multiple costumes for Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman Tour and has produced custom looks for artists including Lady Gaga and Halsey, as well as numerous stage outfits and video pieces for Cardi B.
On the 1,000th episode itself, the rapper returned to the SNL stage for the first time since 2018, performing “Bodega Baddie” and “ErrTime” from her 2025 album “Am I the Drama?” and appearing in a sketch with Skarsgård. The appearance came a few months after she welcomed her fourth child, and first with Stefon Diggs, in November 2025, during a stretch when she kept her shoe style sky-high through pregnancy.
