Camilla, the Australian ready-to-wear and resort fashion brand, has named Rebecca Mansergh chief executive officer, following 12 months in her capacity as acting CEO.
Mansergh spent six years as channels director at Camilla, where she played a key role in shaping the brand’s strategic direction and driving its international success.
“I am honored to be asked to lead the Camilla business as CEO,” said Mansergh. “The business is in an excellent position to continue our global expansion strategy and bring to life Camilla Franks’ vision to ‘Colour the World.’ My focus is to build on the work that I and the leadership team have undertaken these past 12 months, expanding our presence in the U.S. and [Europe, Middle East and Africa] with a renewed focus on brand positioning and the continued advancement in our go-to-market operating model.”
Mansergh’s appointment comes at a time of significant momentum for the business, which has seen strong growth in key international markets. Under her leadership, the brand is embarking on an ambitious expansion in the U.S., with multiple store openings set to launch in key states this year.
At present, Camilla has 29 stores globally, including five stores in the U.S. in Short Hills, N.J.; Miami; Costa Mesa, Calif.; Coral Gables, Fla., and Canoga Park, Calif., that opened this month.
Begun in 2004, the global print and luxury brand is sold in 55 countries and is known for its hand-drawn prints that are painted by in-house artists and sewn by hand with precision-applied embellishments.
“We remain passionate about providing exceptional experiences for our clients however they choose to engage with our brand,” said Mansergh. “Camilla is in the unique position of becoming a global leader in print-driven design. Coupled with captivating storytelling, we are creating a powerful connection with our community. I am absolutely thrilled to be leading the charge as we embark on the next phase of growth for the brand.”
Camilla Franks, founder and creative director, said, “It brings me so much joy to appoint Rebecca Mansergh as permanent CEO of Camilla. She has been a part of the Camilla business and family for over seven years — six years as channels director and over a year as acting CEO.”
She said that Mansergh has been instrumental in shaping the brand’s direction. “She brings a treasure trove of experience and rich insights to this role….along with a deep understanding of what’s truly important: our brand, our vision, our artisans, experiences, the hand-crafted creations that our beautiful customers know and love, and the utterly unique way that we bring each story to life through the magic of print.”
