Camila Cabello Dons Miss Sohee Floral Dress at Elton John Oscars Party

Camila Cabello brightened up the red carpet on Sunday in Los Angeles at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s annual Oscars viewing party. The music artist wore an eye-popping gown that embraced the 3D floral trend.

Cabello arrived at the red carpet in a fuschia gown embroidered with beaded flowers from Miss Sohee’s couture spring 2023 collection — which marked the designer’s debut at Paris Couture Week. Cabello wore look 15, which consisted of a strapless sweetheart neckline trimmed with beaded fringe, and a colorful jeweled necklace. Cabello finished her look with a pair of black sandal heels.

Three-dimensional florals have been trending, especially since last year’s Met Gala, where Nicki Minaj, Gigi Hadid, Kerry Washington, Ayo Edebiri, Kelsea Ballerini and Karlie Kloss all put forth takes on sculptural blossoms. The 3D floral trend was also a breakout style from the spring 2024 season, with labels such as Balmain, Christian Cowan and Marni embracing it. 

Cabello has also been favoring plunging looks on the red carpet in recent weeks. Last weekend, at an event for the BAFTAs, she wore a plunging gown from Roberto Cavalli‘s spring 2013 collection that featured cutouts at the center and sides. Cabello paired the gown with a shimmering smokey eye, a diamond tennis bracelet and diamond statement rings.

The red carpet at the 33rd annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars viewing party also brought out Sheryl Lee Ralph, Megan Thee Stallion, Paris Jackson, Elizabeth Hurley and Damian Hurley, Laufey, Lana Condor, Jean Smart, Heidi Klum and many more.

Meanwhile at the Oscars, “Wicked” star and nominee Cynthia Erivo also embraced the 3D floral trend. The actress opened the Academy Awards with a song medley while wearing a gown adorned with fabric bouquets at the neckline and hip that served as the closing look from Vivienne Westwood’s spring 1997 collection “Love Is Blind.”

This year’s Oscars red carpet brought out Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Zoe Saldaña, Doja Cat, Mikey Madison, Miley Cyrus and many more. The 97th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, takes place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Conan O’Brien is hosting the ceremony, honoring the best in cinema from the past year.
