C.J. Stroud start or sit: Week 7 fantasy football advice

Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season is already upon us and the action will wrap up with a Monday night doubleheader. The second game will feature the Houston Texans heading west to visit the Seattle Seahawks at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Texans are fresh off their bye week and were last seen obliterating the depleted Ravens in a 44-10 beatdown two weeks ago. After a shaky start to the season, quarterback C.J. Stroud started to find his groove before the bye and we’ll see if he can keep that momentum going as the team approaches the midway point of the season.

Below, we’ll go over Stroud’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 7.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans QB C.J. Stroud

Stroud was nearly flawless in Houston’s Week 5 victory over Baltimore, going 23-27 for 244 yards and four touchdowns to finish as the top fantasy QB for that week with 28.8 points. The third-year QB was pedestrian through the first three weeks of the campaign, posting just two TD’s and three interceptions as the Texans stumbled to an 0-3 start. However, back-to-back matchups against the Titans and Ravens were what the doctor ordered to get back on track just in time for the bye.

Monday’s matchup against the Seahawks should provide an interesting gauge for how the rest of the QB’s season could go. On one hand, the Seahawks have yielded the fifth-most passing yards in the NFL at 1,547 along with 10 passing touchdowns in six games. On the other hand, they rank in the top three in both sacks and QB hurries, which doesn’t bode well for a Texans offensive line that has struggled mightily dating back to last season.

Sit. A road matchup against one of the best pressure defenses in the NFL doesn’t inspire confidence for Stroud having a strong performance here. If he can overcome and come out victorious here, then I’ll buy into his fantasy viability for the rest of the season. But for now, I’ll take a wait and see approach.
