Dale Earnhardt’s death in 2001 rocked the sport to its core and has thankfully lead to a revolution in car and driver safety. The seven-time NASCAR champion was an icon and among the most popular drivers in history. His legacy remains unmatched, and many fans still hold that he’s the greatest to ever do it. If you’re so inclined, you could buy this Monte Carlo stock car that was used in the 2004 ESPN biopic film “3 – The Dale Earnhardt Story” and live out your dream of being The Intimidator.
The Monte Carlo chassis is from 1988 and allegedly did race in NASCAR, although it was apparently never raced by Dale himself. The Goodwrench livery applied to this car is quite similar to the one Earnhardt ran in the 1988 season. The seller claims this car was raced professionally through 2000 before it was shifted to a promotional car and used in commercials and films.
I question that assertion because I’m not sure what series would have allowed a 1988 chassis to continue racing for twelve seasons, or anywhere it might have been competitive, but perhaps it was used as someone’s track car or something, it’s hard to say.

This is the car that was used in the movie “3 – The Dale Earnhardt Story” done by ESPN. It was also used in the movie “Zombieland 2″ with Woody Harrelson. Screen shot pictures of the car in the those movies are included. I have letters of authentication for that as well.
The car was retired from Nascar racing in the year 2000 and then was used as a movie/commercial car. It runs very good and is very fast and strong.
Also included in the sale is a matching Monte Carlo go kart. I am not interested in separating the two.
I also have a complete extra set of wheels and tires for it, and a complete set of decals, and brand new battery.

This whole shooting match could be yours for a buy-it-now price of just $23,900, which seems like a pretty fair price in today’s market. Without knowing any of the car’s components, or what engine is in it, or how much of this needs to be updated and swapped out to hit the track again, it’s difficult to truly say. Then again, it’s hard to put a price tag on replicating the epitome of cool. Do it for Dale.
