Bucs-Texans DFS picks: Best plays for Week 2 Monday Night Football

Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is wrapping up and the first game of tonight’s Monday Night Football doubleheader will feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the Houston Texans at 7 p.m. ET. Houston enters as a slight 2.5-point home favorite, with an over/under of 42.5. Tampa Bay edged Atlanta in its season opener last Sunday while Houston will try to get into the win column after falling to the Los Angeles Rams last week.

Below we will take a look at the best DFS plays for this Monday night showdown.

Baker Mayfield, QB, Buccaneers ($7,900)

Mayfield wasn’t necessarily efficient through the air against the Falcons last week, but he still got the job done by passing for 167 yards and three touchdowns while leading the team on the ground with 39 rushing yards. While he may not put up the career numbers he posted last season, he’ll continue to be a reliable option for DFS managers if he continues to avoid turnovers and sacks like he did last week.

Emeka Egbuka, WR, Buccaneers ($6,400)

The rookie wideout immediately lived up to his training camp hype last Sunday, catching four passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns in his debut last Sunday. His 25-yard TD reception with a minute left was the game-winning score for the team and he immediately showed that he could be a big-play target for Mayfield with 16.8 yards per reception. With Derek Stingley Jr. most likely shadowing Mike Evans in this contest, that could open up Egbuka to have another solid outing in tonight’s contest.

Nick Chubb, RB, Texans ($6,000)

Chubb got plenty of work in his Texans debut last Sunday, taking 13 carries for 60 yards in their 14-9 loss to the Rams. It was just an ok day from a fantasy perspective, but he ended up being the most productive skill position player as the rest of the offense sputtered in Week 1. Houston’s offensive line woes from last season carried over into the opener as C.J. Stroud took seven QB hits in the loss, so a way they could offset this and protect their QB is giving even more carries to the veteran tailback tonight.

Dalton Schultz, TE, Texans ($5,200)

Schultz caught three receptions for 28 yards in last weeks loss and notably tied matched Nico Collins for the most targets on the afternoon with five. The Bucs yielded seven receptions for 59 yards to Kyle Pitts last week and I expect C.J. Stroud to look for Schultz throughout this primetime showdown, especially if Houston falls behind and is trying to climb its way back into the game.

Jayden Higgins, WR, Texans ($4,700)

Higgins showed brief flashes of being a big-play wideout for the Texans in Week 1, catching two of three targets for a team-high 32 receiving yards in the team’s loss to the Rams. With Christian Kirk out once again, expect Higgins to once again get some looks and I think the rookie can build on his debut performance from Week 1.

Sterling Shepard, WR, Buccaneers ($4,800)

Shepard caught three of six targets for 39 yards in Week 1 and caught a critical 10-yard pass in the fourth quarter that set up Egbuka’s go-ahead touchdown. His chemistry with Mayfield has been well established and the Bucs clearly trust him as their third WR option in Chris Godwin’s absence as he was on the field for 64% of their offensive snaps last week. Expect for the QB to look for his old college teammate early and often and that could make him a good value play in DFS.
