Brooks Nader returned to Saint Laurent’s archives for the Daily Media Awards in New York on Friday, stepping out in the house’s Casanova slingback pumps.
The slingback style came in black patent leather with a sharply pointed toe, narrow vamp and four-inch stiletto heel. A slim strap secured the heel, leaving the sides of the foot exposed. Once a staple under Anthony Vaccarello, the Casanova has mostly disappeared from stores and is now found primarily on resale sites.

Black patent slingbacks have been circulating again on carpets and press tours. Reese Witherspoon wore a pointed pair in New York earlier this week to promote “The Morning Show,” pairing them with a navy skirt suit. Alix Earle offset a white Tom Ford minidress with the style at the MTV VMAs. Michelle Williams, Kim Kardashian, Amal Clooney and Barbara Palvin have all turned to slingback variations in recent months, ranging from Saint Laurent’s Dune and Vendome 110 to Prada’s classic leather versions and animal-print iterations by Betsey Johnson. Patent finishes, in particular, have framed the cut as both a red-carpet option and a sharp take on daytime tailoring.

For Nader, the Casanova adds to a rotation of Saint Laurent designs. On Labor Day in Beverly Hills, she wore the house’s Babylone mules in brown lambskin with a ruched upper and peep-toe finish while shopping on Rodeo Drive. She was also spotted later that day in white peep-toe pumps, moving away from the mirrored metallics she leaned on through August, including Aquazzura’s Purist stilettos at Monterey Car Week and the rooftop premiere of “Love Thy Nader.”
Her Daily Media Awards look came from GapStudio by Zac Posen. The strapless black midi dress featured a corseted waist and fitted skirt, styled with the brand’s Romantic Bracelet Bag in purple suede with gold hoop handles. Posen’s GapStudio line, introduced earlier this year, has been designed to elevate Gap with tailored eveningwear and statement accessories, positioning the label for red-carpet use alongside its denim core.
