Brian Thomas Jr. injury update: How to handle the Jaguars WR vs. Chargers in Week 11

The 5-4 Jacksonville Jaguars host the 7-3 Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday as 3-point home underdogs. Despite their winning record, it has been a lackluster season for the Jaguars offense, ranking 25th in yards per play. One of the reasons for that below average offense has been wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who leads the league in drops and is WR43 in fantasy points per game.

Thomas missed last week’s game with a high-ankle sprain, but of the low grade variety. He has a chance to play this week, but he is still very questionable.

Brian Thomas Jr. injury updates

Thomas was able to practice every day this week, but wasn’t able to get in a full session. That’s good and bad and can be interpreted either way. At this point we’ll call him a game-time decision until we hear otherwise.

Fantasy football analysis

Thomas has been a Top 10 fantasy wide receiver just once this season when he finished as WR7 against the Seahawks in Week 6. Otherwise, he’s finished WR42 or worse in five games and WR30 and WR31 in two others. That’s all to say he has not been worth the high fantasy pick you needed to grab him in drafts this season. And if he does play this week, it would be difficult to consider him 100% healthy against a decent Chargers pass defense.

If he doesn’t play, Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington would both have some fantasy appeal, but their upside would be hurt by the matchup.
