Breece Hall’s perfect trick play gave Jets first win of year

The New York Jets entered Week 8 as the NFL’s only winless team at 0-7 as they traveled to face the Cincinnati Bengals. What looked like a meeting between two struggling teams turned into the NFL’s most entertaining shootout of the week, and it ended on a brilliant trick play to give New York its first win of the year.

The Bengals looked like they were in control up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. That’s when Breece Hall took over. The running back ripped off a 27-yard touchdown run to make it a one-score game, and then threw the game-winning touchdown pass on the next possession.

On a first and goal from the Cincy four-yard line, New York pitched the ball to Hall, who then threw a perfect touchdown pass to teammate Mason Taylor. Watch the play here:

What an awesome play by Hall. He even threw in a pump fake for good measure. Taylor is a big tight end, and he posted up the defender in the end zone to bring in the touchdown.

Hall finished with 133 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, plus the touchdown pass. New York rushed for 254 yards as a team in the win.
