Brand New Dodge Charger Daytona EVs Are Already Getting Massive Discounts

The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona EV is finally arriving at dealerships across the country, and some Dodge dealers are already hitting it with some pretty hefty discounts.

We first spotted these discounts by way of CarScoops. Dealerships across the country are discounting Charger Daytona EVs as soon as they hit their lots. One example of this is Coastline Dodge in San Juan Capistrano, California. From the looks of it, Coastline has five Charger Dayton EVs in its inventory. Every single one has an MSRP above $85,000, which is about as loaded as you can get A Charger Daytona EV. If that sounds like too much money to you, then good news: you won’t pay that at Coastline; the dealer is throwing $22,000 on the hood of each Charger Daytona.

That $22,000 off sticker consists of the$7,500 EV Tax Credit and another $14,500 through a promotional program. This means that you can get a Charger Daytona EV from Coastline Dodge for just over $63,000. It’s still not cheap, but it’s a far cry from $80,000+.

That being said, this price is the perfect example of why you should always read the fine print. For one, The Charger Daytona only qualifies for the EV tax credit if it’s leased, Dodge tells us. Leasing is also the only way a buyer would be able to get that $14,500 promotional offer. Called “24 MY Lease Bonus Cash,” it’s only available to California residents who lease the Charger Daytona EV.

Not all dealers will make you jump through hoops to get a discount. Some Dodge dealers are literally just discounting the car. University Dodge in Davie, Florida still has leftover gas-powered 2023 Chargers in its inventory. Among those old Chargers are 12 Charger Daytona EVs. All have discounts ranging from $9,000 to over $11,000.

Of the nearly 1,500 Charger EVs I found for sale across the country, it looks as if most of them have some kind of discount. Why would Dodge dealers discount brand-new cars they just received? I called and spoke with a few of the Dodge dealerships offering discounts and they confirmed what I suspected.

Dodge has created a unique situation with the Charger EV’s rollout. Initially, Dodge planned a mid-2024 debut for the EV, but the brand had to iron out a few kinks, which pushed the debut back to late 2024. These 2024 model year Charger EVs started arriving at dealerships in the final few weeks of the year, leaving dealers with brand new models that are already about to be one model year old. Because of that, dealers are discounting 2024 model year Charger EVs because the 2025s are pretty much here already.

Meanwhile, multiple dealers confirmed that Dodge will be discounting the 2025 Charger EVs as a way of “getting them out there” as one dealership put it, which is honestly kind of troubling.

It’s not troubling if you’re in the market for one of these things. So if you can afford to get one right now, these discounts could work out in your favor. As for buyers as a whole, we’ll have to wait and see if these discounts will be enough to entice buyers to try out Dodge’s electric muscle car.
