“Where do you even start with her?” said Brad Goreski of the fashion legacy of his superstar longtime client, Demi Moore.
The celebrity stylist, who met Moore back in 2008 while assisting Rachel Zoe, has worked with the actress since, and brought to life many of the hits from Moore’s recent awards season run for “The Substance.”
“It’s decades of iconic roles, an iconic red carpet presence,” Goreski said of what makes Moore, this year’s Fashion Icon winner at the WWD Style Awards, fitting of the title. “The thing about her is her respect for the art form of fashion and design. She always wants to represent the designer in the best possible way. When we were working on awards season, our conversations with Daniel [Roseberry] at Schiaparelli and with the amazing atelier at Armani Privé and Alexander McQueen with Seán [McGirr], I think for her, it’s always wanting to be the best representative she can possibly be.
“And I think her generosity across all fields of wanting to do things justice is something that I really appreciate about her. She’s just a very generous, kind, lovely human being. That is also something that kind of comes across for me when I see her on the carpet is the time and effort that we put into creating her looks, she always brings to life just by being herself.”
Goreski and Moore have been through “so many things together,” with a large red carpet presence in the last few years thanks to her roles in the FX series “Feud,” followed by her Oscar-nominated turn in “The Substance.”
“2024 was a year where things started really ramping up, first with ‘Feud,’” Goreski recalled. “And all these things just kept on getting added, and we just decided in that moment to have as much fun as possible.”
Moore loves clothes and has a large personal collection, Goreski said, and, thankfully for him, loves the process of creating a red carpet moment.
“I can just tell what’s going to look good on her now, and it may not be things that she sees for herself, but I definitely feel like one of the things of working with somebody for so long is I know what’s going to work on her body, and she is definitely a person who knows what works well on her body,” he said.

“She’s also really great because she gives a lot of time for fittings. So we do a big fitting and then whatever is happening with the gowns, we do multiple refits. And for ‘The Substance,’ they happened all over the world. They were in Milan, they were in Paris, they were in London, they were in New York. Once we got to the hotel and I was like, ‘the team from Alexander McQueen’s going to be meeting us there.’ She’s like, ‘really?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, that’s going to be fun. You’re going to love it.’”
As for jewelry? “We don’t do small,” Goreski said. “She likes jewels. There have been so many times where people will send me images and I’m like, ‘we need bigger. We just need bigger.’ If we do a stud, it’s 20 carats. If we do a necklace, like $6 million. We don’t really play around.”
Despite years of working together, Goreski still pinches himself about working with Moore.
“I don’t want this to sound creepy, but as a fan of hers before working with her, even before 2008, obviously I grew up on ‘Ghost,’ ‘A Few Good Men,’ ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ all of those movies,” Goreski said. “So to me, there’s an innate, inherent movie star quality in her that I feel like is my responsibility to honor.”
