Blake Lively made a return to the 2024 CFDA Awards on Monday, held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The event, which included a red carpet and cocktail reception followed by a gala dinner, celebrated achievements in American fashion, recognizing industry leaders and designers with honors.
For her appearance, Lively chose an all-white look by Michael Kors Collection, highlighting her long-standing relationship with the designer. The actress wore a fitted white dress featuring a gathered waist and a thigh-high slit, lending a modern edge to the classic silhouette. She paired the dress with a matching white jacket, also by Kors, which added structure to the ensemble. Her look was completed with crystal-covered heels and diamond jewelry that added sparkle.
This CFDA Awards marked Lively’s first attendance since 2014, when she once again accompanied Kors himself to the event. This year, she presented him with the Positive Change Award, celebrating his contributions to philanthropy and his efforts in creating sustainable fashion practices. Kors has been recognized for his work supporting hunger relief and other charitable initiatives, solidifying his impact beyond fashion.
Lively’s attendance at the CFDA Awards follows her recent press tour promoting her latest film, “It Ends With Us,” based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover. In her promotional appearances, Lively channeled her character, Lily Bloom, through floral-inspired ensembles by major fashion houses including Versace, Balmain, Vivienne Westwood and Chanel, as well as the indie label Dauphinette. The movie, directed by Justin Baldoni, stars Lively alongside Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, Hasan Minhaj and Jenny Slate, and brings Hoover’s novel to life with a fresh cinematic approach.
With her return to the CFDA Awards, Lively continues to blend her influence in fashion and film, supporting long-time collaborators like Kors while showcasing her evolving style.
The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards will take place at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Oct. 28, with Cynthia Erivo hosting. Honorees at this year’s ceremony include Coach, Michael Kors, Annie Leibovitz and finally, Erykah Badu, who will receive the coveted Fashion Icon Award.
