Birkenstock has reunited with Staud for spring 2026.
This season, the duo has teamed up on updated versions of the German footwear brand’s Arizona Big Buckle and Madrid Big Buckle sandals that aim to add a bit of the Los Angeles city-to-surf sensibility.
Reimagined with raffia and finished in the new Carafe hue, the refreshed Arizona and Madrid models feature a woven texture and gold hardware, which sit on top of Birkenstock’s signature contoured cork footbed.
Sarah “Staud” Staudinger, co-founder and creative director of Staud, told FN that she is “excited” to continue the partnership with Birkenstock this season.
“Easy yet polished, the styles are designed with an effortless sensibility for the warmer days ahead,” Staudinger said. “The raffia finish offers a fresh interpretation of woven leather, a signature element of Staud’s design DNA, bringing texture and dimension in a way that feels both elevated and timeless, while pairing seamlessly with our new spring collection.”
The limited-edition Birkenstock + Staud Arizona Big Buckle, which retails for $210, and Madrid Big Buckle, which retails for $189.95, are now available in store and online exclusively with Birkenstock, Staud, and Bloomingdale’s.

This latest release follows the duo’s May 2025 drop, which featured the Arizona Woven Embossed Sandal. The style was crafted in woven embossed leather upper with a subtle sheen and was available in two colorways – ecru and black.
The new collection also comes as Birkenstock said in its most recent earnings report last month that it experienced strong holiday demand, especially for clogs, shearling and other closed-toe shoes and boots.
In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, the German footwear company reported that it saw net revenue of 401.9 million euros, an increase of 11.1 percent from 361.7 million euros the prior year period.
Oliver Reichert, chief executive officer of Birkenstock, said in a statement in February that the company’s first quarter results “show the continued strong demand” for the brand throughout the important holiday season.
“Our unique business model is designed for resilience,” Reichert said. “Our vertically integrated supply chain means we are capacity constrained by design. We will steer our business by geography, channel and product to maximize profit per pair and maintain strong brand equity.”
