The 2025 Grammy Award nominations were announced today, and Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, and Kendrick Lamar can count themselves among the nominees for Song of the Year. Rounding out the category are Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Shaboozey, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. See all of the 2025 Grammy nominations here.
Beyoncé is up for the Cowboy Carter single âTexas Hold âEm.â It is her fifth time being nominated for Song of the Year, but sheâs won the category only once, in 2010, for âSingle Ladies (Put a Ring on It).â
Roan is nominated for âGood Luck, Babe!,â her first new song since 2023âs The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Kendrick Lamar for the world-conquering Drake diss âNot Like Us.â Mars and Gagaâs duet âDie With a Smileâ is the newest of the pack, having been released just two weeks prior to the August 30 eligibility cutoff.
Both Eilish and Swiftânominated for âBirds of a Featherâ and the Post Maloneâfeaturing âFortnight,â respectivelyâwere nominated for Song of the Year at the 2024 Grammy Awards, too, with this being Swift’s third consecutive year in the category. Eilish took home the award last year, for âWhat Was I Made For?,â her contribution to the Barbie soundtrack.
Each a first-time nominee in the category, Sabrina Carpenter is nominated for âPlease Please Please,â and Shaboozey for âA Bar Song (Tipsy),â both Billboard No. 1 hits.
