Square toes continue to be a bubbling footwear trend on the fall 2026 runways and the front rows at Paris Fashion Week. While pointed heels and boots were still present for brands like Saint Laurent, Chanel and Miu Miu, more and more fashion enthusiasts and celebrity guests were leaning toward a square-toe style.

Square-toe boots have experienced several waves of popularity over the years, and were a major fashion trend in the late 1990s and early 2000s. With Western-inspired roots, the design became popular thanks to their modern, structured silhouette and versatility, as well as their wider toe box.
That added comfort is what sets them apart from narrow or pointed-toe boots, which can often cause discomfort or pinch the toes. Stars like Chase Infiniti, Lisa, Amina Muaddi and more, arrived at the shows this week displaying squared-toe boots, which indicates that the trend, which started taking form in 2025, is here to stay.

Infiniti arrived at the Louis Vuitton show on Tuesday in a youthful purple crushed denim matching two-piece set, which she paired with black leather booties. The “One Battle After Another” star’s shoe style featured a casual silhouette with a subtle square toe.
The boots balanced on top of a wide block heel measuring around four inches, which peeked through the hem of her ultra cuffed pants. Blackpink’s Lisa also attended the Louis Vuitton show wearing the same pair of boots, pairing them with ankle-length leather pants and a yellow cropped blouse.

Bella Hadid was spotted out and about in Paris in between shows wearing an off-duty model look that featured an elegant pair of boots. The model opted for Saint Laurent’s Francoise knee-high leather boots in a light brown shade.
The boots are made with glossed-leather, and have elongated square toes and slim block heels that measure 95mm. The boot’s long, square-toe design is reminiscent of the styles worn in the early 2000s. She completed the look with a Prada Bonnie Bag, a Fendi spring 2003 skirt and a long-sleeve knit top.

The guests at Mugler’s fall 2026 show showed off some square-toe boots that were the talk of the town after they made their debut at the brand’s spring 2026 show. Paris Jackson showed off a sock boot second skin style in a beige color with a slanted heel and a dramatically squared toe. Actress Heart Evangelista wore the same pair to the show in black.
Shoe designers like Muaddi were ahead of the game when it comes to the trend. Muaddi released the Marine Stretch Thigh High Boots as part of the brand’s spring 2025 collection. The footwear designer wore thigh-high latex boots in black, her own design, to the Courrèges show on Wednesday.

The boots feature a sharp square toe, a zip closure at the inner side and a covered block heel that measures four inches. She paired the glossy boots with a black Courrèges turtleneck sweater, black midi skirt and black sunglasses.
