Becky G skipped the black leather lane and took Coachella’s boot story somewhere dustier, heavier and more workwear-coded. At the Interscope and Capitol Records Coachella Party in Palm Springs and the ninth annual Revolve Festival in Thermal on Saturday, April 11, she wore Timberland’s Women’s Stone Street 6-Inch Waterproof Platform Boots in Wheat, a $190 lace-up style that pushed the weekend’s boot run into a more classic workwear lane.

The “Shower” singer wore the Timberlands with the details that make the style read instantly familiar and slightly more festival-adjacent all at once: a wheat nubuck upper, dark padded collar, gold-tone eyelets, hiking-style yellow-and-red laces, a rounded toe and a thick brown lug platform. The shape of the waterproof pair kept the familiar Timberland outline intact, but the raised sole and heavier base gave it a more exaggerated finish than the brand’s standard 6-inch work boot.

The rest of the outfit kept the workwear idea loose rather than literal. Becky G paired the boots with oversized tan long shorts marked by paint splatters and abrasion, a gray cropped tank with a shimmering retro “I love you” slogan across the chest, white crew socks and narrow tinted sunglasses. An orange Hammitt Kyle Sml bag in Tailored Tangerine added a pop of complementary color to the look.
That stood apart from the boot lane already taking shape across Coachella weekend one. Paris Hilton pushed the category toward full Y2K excess in black Demonia thigh-high platforms, while Alix Earle and Kendall Jenner both stayed in a cleaner black boot range with knee-high leather pairs.

That choice also fit one of the more noticeable shifts across the desert this year: sturdier shoes winning out over flimsier warm-weather defaults. Becky G did not go western, and she did not go boho with gladiator sandals or other silhouettes from 2016 that have been popping up, either. She went with one of the most recognizable work-boot shapes on the market, then pushed it into festival territory through proportion, styling and color.

Coachella weekend one continues Sunday night after sets from Sabrina Carpenter on Friday and Justin Bieber and PinkPantheress on Saturday. Offsite, Becky G turned up at Revolve Festival as it returned Saturday for its ninth year in Thermal, where Don Toliver, Mustard and Kehlani kept the desert’s fashion-party circuit moving beyond the main grounds.
