Beams x Timberland 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Buckle Boot Release Date

Spring is officially here, which means now’s a good time to stash away your boots until the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop shopping for them. For Timberland aficionados, there’s a new radical spin on the outdoor footwear brand’s iconic 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot courtesy of Japanese clothing brand Beams.

The Beams x Timberland Buckle Boot flips the traditional 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot with a laceless construction that is instead fastened with an adjustable buckle closure strap. Despite this major modification, the boot is otherwise unchanged and features its traditional Premium Timberland leather in the classic wheat yellow shade. The boot’s padded leather collar remains unchanged, as does its 400-gram PrimaLoft liner for insulation. 

But that’s not all, as Beams also added another internal change which gives the Timberland classic a serious upgrade. While the standard 6-Inch Premium boot is fully waterproof thanks to its seam-sealed construction and treated leather, Beams has gone a step further by equipping the shoe with a Gore-Tex bootie that’s guaranteed to keep moisture at bay while also adding some breathability.

Beams branding is kept subtle, appearing beneath the Timberland tree emblem on the tongue. Meanwhile, the boot’s signature removable hangtag has been stamped to commemorate the Japanese retailer’s 50th anniversary. 

In addition to the footwear, Beams and Timberland created a capsule of co-branded apparel and accessories which reference archival product from the VF Corporation owned-and-operated company. Items include a nylon jacket, T-shirt, denim pant, baseball cap and belt with prices ranging from $58 to $260.

The Beams x Timberland Buckle Boot with Gore-Tex Membrane will be released Friday for $240 from timberland.com, Timberland’s SoHo location in NYC, Beams America and select retailers. A Japan launch will follow on Saturday.
