RedEdge-P camera to be integrated with Spirit UAV, expanding U.S. drone capabilities for precision agriculture
At AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2025, Ascent AeroSystems and AgEagle announced a strategic collaboration to integrate the RedEdge-P™ multispectral camera with Ascent’s rugged Spirit™ UAV. This partnership reflects the growing expansion of options in the U.S.-manufactured drone ecosystem, especially for agricultural applications.
Advancing Precision Agriculture
The agreement marks the first integration of a multispectral sensor with Ascent’s coaxial UAV platform. The RedEdge-P camera, known for its advanced imaging capabilities, will enhance Spirit’s performance in collecting high-quality agricultural data.
“Providing high quality, actionable data to the customer is at the core of what we do, and it’s why we are collaborating with Ascent AeroSystems,” said Bill Irby, CEO of AgEagle. “Combining our advanced camera sensor technology with the Spirit platform is a natural fit. Working with manufacturers like Ascent enables us to deliver a new dimension of precision and capability to the agriculture sector.”
Peter Fuchs, President of Ascent AeroSystems, emphasized the importance of robust solutions for farming. “The agricultural drone market is expanding, rapidly, and the need for reliable, high-performance, scalable UAS platforms is critical,” he said. “By pairing the rugged, reliable, all-weather design of the Spirit with the precision and efficiency of AgEagle’s industry-leading RedEdge-P camera, we are paving the way for further innovation and future growth within the agricultural sector.”
Designed for Flexibility and Growth
The collaboration highlights the modular nature of both companies’ products. The Spirit UAV is built to adapt to different payloads and operating conditions. AgEagle’s RedEdge-P camera complements this with its compatibility and mission-specific functionality. Together, they offer a complete solution for aerial imagery and precision farming.
The integration also shows the ability of U.S. drone manufacturers to work together to deliver competitive, scalable solutions across markets.
