Ariana Grande Holds Court in Vivienne Westwood at AFI Awards 2026

Ariana Grande went back into the archives and added a touch of pared back method dressing in a vintage Vivienne Westwood look for the 2026 AFI Awards on Friday in Los Angeles.

Styled by Law Roach, the “Wicked: For Good” star wore a strapless lace dusty pink ensemble, with a formfitting bodice with slight corsetry and a full skirt with gathered fabric, creating a midi hemline and fuller aesthetic overall. The look’s pink tone was a slight reference to Grande’s “Wicked” character, Glinda.

The dress gave off slightly deconstructed inspiration, with thin pieces of fabric suspended from the gathered midi hemline of the skirt. The ensemble was complemented by Grande’s pointed toe cream heels. As for accessories, Grande kept her look simple, favoring a pair of stud earrings courtesy of Swarovski, a brand with which the Oscar nominated “Wicked” star shares a collaborative relationship.

Grande was named an ambassador to the Austrian jewelry manufacturer in July 2024, and previously starred in the 2024 holiday campaign as well as the 2025 1960s-inspired spring campaign. Throughout her “Wicked: For Good” promotional and awards season tour, Swarovski has provided shimmering jewels to accent her various designer looks.

Custom and archival pieces have been a staple of Grande’s “Wicked: For Good” press run. Stylist Law Roach, who also counts Zendaya among his high-profile clientele, curated the singer and actress’ recent red carpet looks, finding inspiration from Christian Dior’s fall 2007 ready-to-wear collection, for November’s 2025 Governors Awards, to a special piece that paid homage to the original inspiration for “Wicked” — “The Wizard of Oz.”

At the London premiere of “Wicked: For Good,” Grande wore a vintage gown circa 1952 by “Wizard of Oz” costume designer Adrian Adolph Greenburg, known at the beginning of his career as Gilbert Adrian.
