Get ready for another round.
It was announced by Apple TV on Wednesday that their hit show ‘Stick’ featuring Owen Wilson is officially set to return for season two. Golf fans everywhere will now celebrate.
In case you were somehow unaware, Apple TV launched ‘Stick’ this year and it is entirely about golf. Wilson plays the role of Pryce Cahill, a washed up former professional who discovers an insanely talented young man by the name of Santi and takes on the role of mentoring him in hopes of him succeeding to the point that everyone involved can benefit. In addition to the day where this news was dropped, Wednesday is also the day in which the first season’s finale hit the service.
“I am inspired and humbled by the audience reaction to ‘Stick,’ and I’m thrilled to be making a second season with this magical cast, led by the incomparable Owen Wilson, and the wonderful creative team at Apple TV+,” said creator Jason Keller. “It’s a joy to be able to continue this story. Most importantly, however, this season two order will provide me with an undeniable excuse to play even more golf. Thank you, Apple TV+.”
“I think we all had a great time making it,” said star and executive producer Owen Wilson. “It’s really nice to see the show connecting with people and to know that we get a chance to continue the story!”
Golf is having quite the moment here in 2025 with all sorts of media properties getting involved in the game. This is on top of the sport of golf increasing their own level of media coverage of the professional landscape and on the heels of a season that saw Rory McIlroy complete the career grand slam… and Scottie Scheffler win the PGA Championship and Open Championship to put him a U.S. Open away from one himself.
Will any of those things be plot lines in season 2 of ‘Stick’? We will have to wait and see!
