Apellix has named Drone Clean UK as the exclusive distributor for its autonomous cleaning drones in the United Kingdom. The agreement brings Apellix’s tethered, AI-enabled systems for spray painting, power washing, and soft washing to commercial and industrial users across the region.
Apellix autonomous cleaning drones in the UK
Under the distribution deal, Drone Clean UK will supply Apellix autonomous cleaning drones, paired with ground-based equipment and local support services. The systems integrate precision flight control with industry-standard pumps, hoses, and nozzles to deliver high-pressure or soft-wash cleaning on large vertical assets. Operators can connect the drone to existing wash rigs via quick connections, then fly cleaning missions on building façades, storage tanks, ships, and wind turbines while remaining on the ground.
Apellix power-wash platforms can deliver up to 4,000 PSI at the pump and as much as 8–10 gallons per minute, while staying within common 55-pound regulatory limits for unmanned aircraft. The tethered architecture supports extended operations and continuous flow without frequent landings for battery changes or refills. Optional ground power and tether systems enable all-day flight at a single location, which suits high-rise or critical infrastructure projects.
Safety, autonomy, and industrial use cases
The Apellix autonomous cleaning drones use proprietary precision flight control, distance hold, and collision avoidance to maintain consistent standoff from the surface. This helps ensure even coverage and reduces the risk of contact with the structure. By removing the need for scaffolding, cherry pickers, or rope access, the systems keep workers off ladders and away from hazardous heights and chemical exposure.
Drone Clean UK plans to bundle Apellix drones with regulatory guidance, training, and documentation to support professional drone cleaning operations at scale. Target applications include exterior cleaning, façade maintenance, and inspection in energy, maritime, infrastructure, and facilities management sectors. Apellix systems already operate in more than 20 countries, and the UK distribution agreement continues the company’s global expansion into drone-powered cleaning for the built environment.
“Drone Clean UK’s expertise and established presence in the industrial drone sector make them the perfect partner for Apellix,” said Robert Dahlstrom, Founder and CEO of Apellix. “Their commitment to innovation and safety aligns with our mission to use robotics to improve worker safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency.” Drone Clean UK CEO Dean Lancaster added, “Apellix drones elevate what’s possible in surface cleaning by combining accuracy, safety, and environmental responsibility. We’re eager to introduce these capabilities to clients across multiple industries.”
