Industrial drone maker Apellix recently announced the launch of its Spray-Painting Drone Beta Program, designed for painting contractors and companies with advanced levels of coating expertise. This initiative allows professionals to leverage drone technology for complex coating applications and includes regular hardware/software updates, direct access to Apellix engineers, and the opportunity to provide feedback on the drone’s final design.
Advanced Painting Technology
Featuring a semi-autonomous platform with proprietary distance-hold, speed control, and perpendicular alignment technology, the drone enables precise application of architectural and industrial coatings in hard to reach and dangerous environments. Apellix’s technology has been validated for use with a range of high-performance coatings including two part corrosion inhibitors like CORROCOAT® Plasmet ZF. The system is designed for touch-up, repair, graffiti mitigation, and select production applications, particularly where lifts or scaffolding are impractical. The unit can paint more than 1000 sq. ft per hour and is available in both standard and Blue-compliant configurations. The Apellix Power Wash Drones comply with several surface preparation standards, including SSPC-SP-1 Society for Steel and Protective Coatings, Solvent Cleaning, ISO 8501-1 Part 2, ISO 8504-1:2019 Part 1, and ISO 25.220.10 Surface Preparation.
Limited Enrollment
According to Apellix’s press release, the program is specifically crafted for AMPP QP1-certified contractors and organizations that meet similar industry standards. Participation is limited to a few beta partners to ensure focused support and meaningful collaboration. Interested contractors and industry leaders are encouraged to contact Apellix.
