Antonio Gibson start or sit: Week 5 fantasy football advice

Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action continue with an AFC East rivalry showdown on Sunday night as the New England Patriots visit the Buffalo Bills at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.

The Patriots got back into the win column by burying the Panthers in a 42-13 blowout victory at home last Sunday, improving to 2-2 on the year. Running back Antonio Gibson was one of several offensive playmakers that contributed to the win and he’ll look to do the same in this huge early-season divisional test.

Below, we’ll go over Gibson’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 5.

Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots RB Antonio Gibson

Gibby had six carries for 27 yards and a late first-half touchdown in last Sunday’s blowout victory over the Panthers. The veteran tailback has been almost primarily used as a red-zone option this season with 14 of his 19 carries coming within the 20 and last week’s win marked his first trip to the end zone this year. We’ll see if New England can put Gibson in a position where he can score in this primetime AFC East showdown.

Sit. The Patriots have gone full running back committee on the ground and that depresses the value of not just Gibson, but Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson as well. For those in deeper leagues that were curious about Gibson’s fantasy potential after his score last week, keep looking. Pass.
