Anthony Richardson’s goal-line shove was Colts’ secret weapon vs. Bears

Sunday was a tough day at the office for Anthony Richardson.

The second-year passer for the Indianapolis Colts struggled in the passing game, throwing a pair of brutal interceptions in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. One of those picks was a throw into the end zone that was tipped, but the second interception, coming right at the start of the second half, was a throw that missed its intended target by, well a lot.

But as sports fans — and in particular fans of Hulu’s incredible series Shoresy know if they watched the incredible third season — some games you just have to find a way to contribute.

Which is exactly what Richardson did on this touchdown in the second half that gave the Colts a 14-3 lead over the visiting Bears:

After handing off to running back Trey Sermon, Richardson sees that his running back has been stood up short of the goal line. Immediately, Richardson shifts into blocker mode, helping to shove Sermon into the end zone for the Colts’ second touchdown of the game.

Finding a way to contribute. Shoresy would be proud.

The Colts beat the Bears, 21-16, to get Indianapolis their first W of the season.
