Angelina Jolie is in the running for her fourth Golden Globes win at this year’s annual award ceremony, receiving her ninth nomination for her role in “Maria,” in which she plays the titular soprano, Maria Callas.
The biopic, which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August, is set in 1970s Paris and follows the final years of Callas’ life, including her relationship with Greek business magnate Aristotle Onassis.
The actress and humanitarian has always stunned at the Golden Globes, making a splash (literally) in 1999 when she attended in a crystal-embellished dress and won an award for her role in “Gia.” Jolie famously celebrated her win by jumping into the pool at The Beverly Hilton after-party while still wearing the glittering gown.
While Jolie’s outfit for this year’s ceremony is still up in the air — thanks to a recently broken toe, she might even go barefoot, as she did on Dec. 6 to the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Throughout the years, Jolie has arrived in elegant gowns, showing off her penchant for cream, black, and plenty of sparkle.
