Angel Reese Keeps It Monochromatic in Black Slingbacks at CFDA Awards

WNBA star Angel Reese hit the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night in New York City. For the night out, she donned an all-black ensemble, down to her heels. She rounded out her monochromatic look with black slingback pumps. Her shoes featured a sharp pointed toe with a thin stiletto heel, and the pair was finished with a shiny satin material. 

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show model paired her pumps with a black sequin minidress and coordinating opaque tights. A black satin frock was draped over her arms, and she completed the look with minimal silver jewels.

Reese teamed up with Amazon Fashion for the night. She curated a shopping list for the website of pieces similar to the look she was donning at the award show. She included several styles of heels to match her look, including black strappy sandals, classic pumps, and slingback options.

Though the basketball star tends to go for sporty sneakers on the court and in her Reebok campaigns, she’s been known to style stilettos outside of her day job. Reese seems to favor Gianvito Rossi styles, wearing the brand’s Dorotea sandals to the “A House of Dynamite” premiere in September. She also wore Gianvito Rossi shoes to the CFDA Awards in 2024, when she paired the Metropolis strappy PVC heels with a white dress and matching fur coat.

The 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards honored excellence in American design with an intimate ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Monday. Led by CFDA Chairman Thom Browne and CEO Steven Kolb, the event celebrated top talents across womenswear, menswear and accessories. Hosted by Teyana Taylor, the evening brought together leading designers, celebrities, and industry icons to recognize creativity and innovation in contemporary fashion.
