Andie MacDowell opted for a shimmering effect for her look on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday in New York City. The longtime actress and model chatted with the eponymous late-night talk show host about her Hallmark show, “The Way Home,” and her daughter, Margaret Qualley.
For her stint on the late-night talk show, MacDowell opted for designer threads with a sultry neckline and shimmering spin. The “Groundhog Day” actress wore a paisley silk dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline and accentuated ruffles courtesy of Saint Laurent — a creation by the French luxury fashion house’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello.
The dress featured a semi-sheer look with a subdued pattern in shades of deep red and black, and shimmering elements throughout. The sleeves of MacDowell’s midi dress were further accentuated by ruffles, similar to the neckline. A chain belt was added to further define the silhouette of the dress.
MacDowell completed the look with a pair of black wedges in satin crepe and metallic leather. As for her jewelry, MacDowell went the statement route, choosing a few rings and bold gold earrings to complete the ensemble. The actress styled her natural gray hair in voluminous curls and her makeup featured a smokey eye and hint of a pink lip.
During her time on the talk show, MacDowell chatted about the forthcoming third season of her Hallmark show, “The Way Home,” which debuts on Friday. She also shared with Fallon how being the mother of actress Qualley created a “reverse nepotism” effect. “I’m now cool because I’m Margaret Qualley’s mom,” MacDowell told the talk show host.
Anthony Vaccarello, who’s severed as Saint Laurent’s creative director since 2016, integrated entertainment and fashion in 2024 with his involvement in the film “Emilia Pérez.” Costume designer Virginie Montel worked with the Saint Laurent archives to craft the costumes for the Oscar-nominated film, with Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent Productions serving as a coproducer on the film.
Among the film’s 13 Oscar nominations, “Emilia Pérez” did not earn a nod for its costume design. Films nominated in the category include “Wicked,” “Gladiator II,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Conclave” and “Nosferatu.”
