Quigley was the Sky’s all-time leading scorer until last month, when she was surpassed by her wife, Courtney Vandersloot. Vandersloot suffered an ACL tear this past weekend in a game against the Indiana Fever and is out for the rest of the season.
In her Players Tribune piece, Quigley explained she initially hoped to return to the WNBA after getting pregnant:
“When I sat out after 2022, it was for a very specific reason.
It was so I could start the next phase of my life: becoming a mom.
To be honest, I thought I would get pregnant fast, then at least leave the option open to play one more season. But things didn’t happen as fast as we would have liked. They did happen, though!! And I’m thrilled to say that on April 8th, 2025, Courtney and I celebrated the birth of our baby girl, Jana Christine.”
Whether Vandersloot will return to the court remains to be seen; the Sky point guard was having a solid season prior to going down with injury, averaging 10.6 points and 5.3 assists.
