Alix Earle brought the crispy white shoe trend into mule territory on Monday, leaving the “Today” show in Jimmy Choo’s Brigitte Mule 100 a day before the launch of her acne-focused skin care brand, Reale Actives.

Earle wore the Brigitte in white patent leather with a high-shine finish, an open back and a sharply pitched 100 mm stiletto heel. The front of the $895 mule covered most of the foot and rose into a dipped V-shaped topline before narrowing to a small peep-toe.
For the rest of the look, Earle layered a leopard print coat over a cream dress and carried a black leather clutch. Narrow sunglasses completed the look.

Earle’s “Today” stop placed her inside a white shoe run that has been turning up across pumps, sandals and now mules. Zendaya kept the broader color story in circulation last week at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Drama” in white Christian Louboutin pumps, while Oprah Winfrey added to it at the beginning of the year in New York City in white Fendi ankle boots while promoting her new book “Enough.” Rachel McAdams pushed the trend into more specific mule territory a week after in Los Angeles, opting for Jude’s white leather Date mule, a backless style with a more closed front.

The appearance also landed in the final stretch before Earle’s move into beauty entrepreneurship. Reale Actives, her acne-focused skin care line, launches Tuesday with four products ranging from $28 to $39. Earle told Beauty Inc she approached the brand after finding much of the acne category too harsh, saying, “It never felt like I could have fun with any products in the acne space,” before adding that she wanted the opening lineup to feel like “the bare bones of the routine.”
