Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season is already upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with the Indianapolis Colts heading west to visit the Los Angeles Chargers at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
Not many people predicted the Colts owning the AFC’s best record in mid-October and that’s exactly where they sit following their 31-27 victory over the Cardinals last Sunday. Wide receiver Alex Pierce returned from a two-game absence in the win last week and he may have a big role in this showdown.
Below, we’ll go over Pierce’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 7.
Fantasy Football analysis: Colts WR Alec Pierce
Pierce returned from a two-game absence due to a concussion last week, catching two of four targets for 48 yards in their home victory over the Cardinals. Like last season, the veteran has been primarily a big-gain hunter within the offense with 19.9 yards per reception and an ADOT of 19.24 that ranks fourth among receivers with at least 50 routes run this season.
The wideout may be in line for a few extra targets against the Chargers this week with Josh Downs being officially ruled out of this contest with a concussion. We’ll see if Daniel Jones can get him involved in their intermediate passing game.
Start or sit in Week 7 PPR leagues?
Sit. Pierce’s nature as a deep-shot target makes him the ultimate boom-or-bust fantasy receiver and so far, he has yet to put up a start-worthy performance this season. Michael Pittman and Tyler Warren have been more trust-worthy pass-catchers for fantasy managers this season and they should still get a majority of the looks while Pierce goes up for the occasional deep pass. I’d leave him on the bench.
