Lorenzo Serafini is continuing his quiet evolution of the Alberta Ferretti codes. Building on the spring 2026 show, where he “imagined the perfect wardrobe to live in a private space,” he dug deeper into the cozy feel of domestic spaces to expand his definition of modern luxury.
In an age marked by the rush to constant exposure, Serafini sees intimacy as the ultimate luxury and considers discretion a radical gesture. So far his designs for the brand have conveyed a sense of a whispered seduction and ease that looks to reassure the wearer rather than pleasing others’ eyes.
The pre-fall 2026 collection reinforced Serafini’s vision and the qualities he identified in the fashion house since he was called to helm it last year, which center on timeless designs, effortless elegance and a celebration of individuality.
In this lineup, Serafini amplified these features by balancing the masculine and feminine, daywear and nighttime, structure and fluidity. Outerwear was infused with a sense of warmth and coziness via enveloping wool capes, blanket-like pieces and reversible shearling coats.
Underneath, pajama sets in tropical wool or fluid satin were key in expressing the languid feel and unfussiness Serafini had in mind, as well as his mission to offer day-to-night options.
Ditto for deconstructed tailoring and other looks, from printed dresses that were scarf-simple in construction to devoré velvet stunners, like a pink frock that exalted the body without constraining it and a creamy version that also played with transparencies.
These rounded out eveningwear options encompassing sleek sequined separates, bias-cut dresses crafted from envers satin for a more understated effect, flowing frocks cut from flocked organza or Alberta Ferretti’s signature chiffon, in designs that Serafini imagined all grounded in pebble-studded moccasins or approachable boots.
And that’s probably what stands out the most about his tenure so far: the way Serafini is bringing the pragmatic vision of fashion he honed during his previous experience — a decade leading the company’s Philosophy label — into the more elevated language of Aeffe’s main line.
