Air Jordan Mule Sneaker Loafer ‘Soft Pearl’ Release Date IM6663-071 

After slowly trickling out in July, the Air Jordan Mule sneaker loafer has been steadily adding options throughout the summer, with plenty more to come. With special-edition styles such as a pony hair cow print look, which is available now, and a forthcoming croc-covered colorway, there are also more toned-down variations on the way.

One such pair is the Soft Pearl/Metallic Gold/Coconut Milk makeup pictured here. With an upper covered fully in suede — a first for the sneaker-loafer hybrid — the upcoming pair sports one of the cleanest looks seen on the model thus far. Its Soft Pearl suede upper is a cream-colored shade that will easily transition into fall weather, while the style’s Metallic Gold hardware gives it an elevated look that’s atypical of the Nike-owned sportswear juggernaut. And inside, the styler is lined with a synthetic shearling which will keep feet comfortable and toasty as temperatures start to fall. 

Beyond its on-trend aesthetic fusing a sneaker sole with a backless loafer upper, the Air Jordan Mule also has some interesting things going on under the hood. Despite its Air Jordan nomenclature, the mule does not feature Air technology. Instead, the aforementioned stacked sole uses a soft foam platform with rubber sidewalls that give it an extra-chunky appearance while adding durability.

Over the last two years, sneaker loafer hybrids of all shapes and sizes have been a prevailing trend. New Balance is largely credited for building hype around the look with its Charlotte Lee-designed 1906L model, which was first introduced in 2024. Nearly every athletic footwear brand has now introduced at least one variation of the concept. Nike has its own spin on the trend, the Air Max Phenomena, which was designed in collaboration with the Serena Williams Design Crew. 

This Air Jordan Mule sneaker loafer will be released soon exclusively in women’s sizing for a retail price of $145. The colorway’s style code is IM6663-071 and it will be available from nike.com and select Jordan Brand retailers.
