Air Jordan 7 Retro ‘Raptors’ True Red 2027 Release Date 304775-018

Many of Michael Jordan’s classic Air Jordan sneakers are regularly reissued by Nike, Inc., with models such as the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4 remaining in near-perpetual availability. Then there are other pairs, like the Air Jordan 7, which are seen far less often, but the shoe will soon return to store shelves, and it’s set to come in some familiar original colorways.

Various insiders are indicating that the Air Jordan 7 “Raptor” style will be reissued in 2027. The Black/Dark Charcoal/True Red was originally released in 1992 one of five original Air Jordan 7 colorways alongside the sneaker’s Bordeaux, Cardinal, Hare and Olympic styles.

With its black nubuck upper, which is sometimes rendered in a two-tone look contrasted with a charcoal shade, the sneaker gets its standout color in the form of bright red and purple accents on the branding, midsole and tongue.

And while the red and purple accents led to the “Raptor” nickname becoming the sneaker’s informal moniker, the original ’92 style had no connection to the Toronto Raptors, who joined the NBA as an expansion team in 1995. Nevertheless, the familiar color combination and close timeline led to the label, which has over the years become the most common way to refer to the style.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 7 was a byproduct of Nike, Inc.’s early 1990s breakthroughs. It heavily incorporated Hatfield’s sock-like Huarache concept with an inner bootie for a snug fit.

The Air Jordan 7 last appeared at retail in July 2023 with a reissue of 2007’s Black/Chambray/Light Graphite look. It’s expected to return this year in its Olympic-themed “Miro” style along with a new tennis-themed colorway.

As for the upcoming Air Jordan 7 Retro Raptors colorway, it’s set to be rereleased in spring 2027 with expected availability from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers for $210. The colorway’s ’12 iteration had a style code of 304775-018, but it’s likely this will be changed for the upcoming retro. Images of the most recent ’12 reissue appear here courtesy of GOAT.
