It’s been quite some time since reports of an updated Air Jordan 5 Retro “White Metallic” surfaced and now, a first look at the upcoming sneaker has finally materialized.
In-hand images shared by @jaythesneakerguy offer a detailed look at what to expect when the style arrives later this month. As expected, the pair is a close reissue of the original White Metallic Air Jordan 5 from 2000, which is sometimes referred to as Metallic White. Unlike the original ’00 iteration and the colorway’s first rerelease in 2015, the upcoming retro features embroidered Nike Air branding on the heel for the first time, replacing the Jumpman emblem seen on the aforementioned releases.
Aside from the updated branding, which references the Air Jordan 5’s OG 1990 form, the upcoming White Metallic reissue is a near one-to-one re-creation of the past versions.

Like those releases, the upcoming 2026 pair features a white tumbled leather upper with metallic silver on the midsole’s signature fighter jet-inspired flame pattern and at the heel’s 23 embroidery, the latter of which is a nod to Michael Jordan’s original player exclusive Air Jordan 5s. The tongue features a reflective silver treatment, while the outsole is finished off with an icy blue tint.
\And while the sneaker will come equipped with flat cotton shoelaces, a set of round laces is also included — a subtle nod to the set which came in the ’00 release of the White Metallic colorway.
Fans hoping to get their hands on this year’s Air Jordan 5 Retro White Metallic release won’t have to wait long as the sneaker is set to drop in just a matter of weeks on April 25 for $215. With a full colorway of White/Metallic Silver/Black and a style code of HQ7978-103 in adult sizes, readers can expect availability from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers.
