Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Sunset’ 2026 Release Date IV5678-102

When it comes to reissues of Air Jordan styles from decades past, the Nike, Inc.-owned-and-operated Jordan Brand most frequently focuses on original styles, often those that were worn on-court by Michael Jordan himself. There are, however, certain colorways introduced in the 2000s and beyond that have become so coveted that the brand brings them back. This year alone has seen the return of Undefeated’s Air Jordan 4 collaboration, the Tokyo Air Jordan 5, and the Shattered Backboard Air Jordan 1 — all beloved pairs that weren’t part of their respective model’s initial runs. Another notable, albeit somewhat overlooked, style will reportedly be returning in 2026 for the first time ever.

Originally released in 2006, the women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 5 Retro Sunset is set for a reissue for its 20th anniversary. The White/Sunset/Fire Red/Black pair will once again be released only in women’s sizing as well as kid’s and is expected to match the look of the ’06 original. With a white leather upper, the pair uses the Air Jordan 5’s classic color blocking with a reflective metallic silver tongue and a mixture of Sunset orange and a Jordan staple Fire Red shade. Unique to this colorway is a fully red outsole, which covers both its translucent and solid rubber portions. 

Although it wasn’t pegged to a specific anniversary, ’06 was a particularly memorable year for the Air Jordan 5. It featured more releases for the 1990 model than any year prior with fan-favorite styles including the first-ever Grape and Fire Red/Black reissue along with new colorways including Olive, Green Bean and Burgundy. And along with the women’s-exclusive Sunset style, the sneaker was also released in women’s sizing in a Silver/Shy Pink iteration.

In-hand images of the ’26 variation of the Air Jordan 5 Retro Sunset aren’t yet available, but the original ’06 version appears below courtesy of Sotheby’s. The sneaker is expected to be released during fall ’26 for a retail price of $215 and its style code is IV5678-102.
