Michael Jordan’s fan-favorite fourth signature sneaker is reportedly getting a playful makeover in 2026 inspired by the pastime of comic book collecting.
New information details an upcoming Air Jordan 4 Retro “Comic” style with colors and details themed after the collectible art books. The new pair will reportedly feature a colorful gradient fade underneath the model’s signature tongue and side panel netting along with other call backs to the hobby.
With a full colorway of Off White/Anthracite/Neutral Grey/Fire Pink/Light Arctic Pink/Muslin, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Comic is expected to feature an off-white-colored upper with a gray suede mudguard and anthracite components throughout. But the key colors appear on the aforementioned gradient mesh, the outsole, wing eyelets and heel. Beyond color, the pair features a number of modifications that reference the action-packed pages.
The shoe’s TPU eyelets feature an action bubble outline said to be inspired by the classic “pow!” motif found in comics. This reference is also applied to the heel’s Nike Air branding, which will reportedly take on a hand-sketched appearance. Despite the lack of in-hand images, the upcoming pair is expected to resemble the mock-up pictured here.
