Between moisture-wicking materials and bright, sunny colors, there are plenty of sneakers well-suited for spring and summer weather, but sometimes, it’s just hard to top a simple pair of low-cut white leather shoes. Which is exactly what makes this upcoming Air Jordan release so well-coordinated with the incoming warmer weather.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Sail” is a brand-new style from Nike Inc.’s Jordan Brand, but it may look familiar to sneaker fans. The same colorway — down to its material selection and accent colors — was first used on a 2017 Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG release.
The Sail/University Red/Sail colorway is relatively tame by sneaker standards, using an off-white sail premium leather upper paired with an ever-so-slightly creamier rubber midsole and outsole. Red Nike Air branding appears on the woven tongue tag and on the insole, but the Wings logo stamped at the heel is kept tonal.

Level Shoes
In ’17, Jordan Brand also issued a Triple Black version of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG alongside the aforementioned Sail style. Aside from their differing dominant colors, the Triple Black and Sail pairs featured matching materials and red Nike Air branding. Despite the imminent arrival of a low-top Sail iteration, there’s no word yet on the Triple Black look being revisited.
While it was the Air Jordan 1 High that Michael Jordan himself made famous, the model’s low-top counterpart has become increasingly popular in recent years, thanks in large part to its numerous Travis Scott collaborations.
This Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Sail colorway will be released on June 6 for a retail price of $145 from nike.com and select Jordan Brand retailers. The style code for the upcoming release is HQ6998-100.
