Accent PR_ojects Launches Wedding-focused Public Relations Platform

EDITORIAL RITES: Weddings are becoming less about creating personal memories and more about amplifying them for the world to see. With that in mind, New York-based publicist and Accent PR_ojects founder Gabrielle Katz has launched a new arm of her agency to help couples do exactly that.

Dubbed Accent_Bridal, the platform takes a wide-lens approach to wedding planning, rather than getting involved in the nitty-gritty details, for which Katz has trusted Julie Lindenman of Julie Lindenman Events to manage.

From fonts to flowers and, of course, the perfect dress, Katz will lend her professional press agent’s eye to curate the overall look of each event, so when the photographer sends through final images from the day, they don’t just make it into an album for friends and family to see, but tell a compelling enough story that they get picked up by major media outlets.

“With weddings, it’s the same principles as any fashion event or runway show,” explained Katz, who is gearing up to walk down the aisle herself and helped her longtime friend Jamie Hunter tie the knot.

Hunter shared: “I got married in Italy during COVID[-19] and we didn’t know if it was even going to be able to happen until the very last minute, so it was very disorganized, but Gabby took full control over the process.” Not only did it turn out “heartfelt and beautiful,” Katz got Vogue to cover it too, clueing her in that weddings can be used as clickbait. Now, with Accent_Bridal, Katz is making her union with Hunter official with the former Bergdorf Goodman buyer joining on as its creative director.

After Hunter said “I do,” Katz said she fielded lots of request from brides asking her to plan and pitch their nuptial ceremonies. “Honestly, I got a lot of these photos, and I didn’t find them to be editorial enough,” she said, “and I always was like, ‘That one only really worked because Jamie and I did it together.’ It felt very fashion, and it felt very directional and interesting.”

Not just anyone will be able to use Accent_Bridal’s services. As for its starting clientele base, Katz was tight-lipped. “We’re a little NDA about that, but we’ll be able to talk about them soon.” However, she did allow that many of them are high-profiled entrepreneurs and work in creative industries.

Katz continued: “I view Accent_Bridal as another wing of the business.…We’re continuing to really grow our talent division as well, so there could be a lot of crossover going forward.”

Next time you see a wedding in Vogue, she might be the one that helped it get there.
